This is not a high-speed corridor -- the discussion is about 'someday' making 110mph in select places -- so the top-and-tail power needed for 125mph operation of this equipment would be overkill.

This is old news! That Video is from December 2018. The first set is to be delivered to VIA this month for testing.
VIA runs at 90-100 mph in a lot of areas already. I think their F40's are geared for 95 mph and the P42's 110.
The LRC locomotives were geared for 125 mph but only ran at that speed during tests, never in regular service.
As in the U.S, the UAC TurboTrain still holds the Canadian rail speed record.
