I still remember the days a long time ago when Amtrak didn't have any limits or charges on baggage for LD travel. Some folks had up to a pallet of crap along with 2-3 red hats toting that crap around the station with them. It was humorous to watch. Thankfully someone at Amtrak wised up to that BS. I've seen others attempt to circumvent the coach policy on baggage by using shopping bags for their clothes to make it look like they just bought the stuff.
At any rate, I think those changes are long over due and will force folks to plan and possibly use travel insurance if they have a large ticket price.
