Is that a problem for you? There just could be a connection to preferences in beverage choices and the new Amtrak menu.
runnerdude48Me thinks this thread has drifted off topic!!
Along with most other threads that are up for more than two or three hours. It does not bother me. When it has gone too far off topic or dragged on too long, I stop reading.
Methinks thou art correct! So thou should'st be the first appointed to steer it back on course.
Hearing the name Mogen David brings back a lot of memories of holidays with the family, we always drank it, locally made in St. L, they had a big winery that friends and I toured one time. Long gone now, used to see MD 20/20 bottles in the curb when I went to work in downtown years ago. MO has a lot of wineries now, when they were just starting out, we would visit them and wine was cheap and free samples too. Owner of one asked a friend what type of wine she liked and I remember her saying Boone's Farm. He looked at her kinda funny and the rest of us just wanted to curl up in a corner and pretend we did not know her. But at least she was honest. I rode on CZ abd SW Chief this summer and they still had the real diner but CONO has not, did not like the deli sandwich they had, only the salami was good, so I'd take the other meats off and eat it. Breakfast was good and microwaved pasta ok too. I'll be ok with the meals but will miss sitting in a diner and having great conversations with folks. Even when I traveled with parents, we'd get a single traveler with us and always had a good experience.
Perhaps the discussion of various beverages is suggesting to Amtrak that the offferings on board should be enlarged? Would that not be on track?
Incidentally, I had completely forgotten about many of the beverages that were mentioned. I can add some--RC Cola (and moon pies) and Nehi beverages, along with Cheerwine and Orange Crush.

My favorite soft drink: Vernor's Ginger Ale ("It's aged in wood.")
In the seven years I lived in Atlanta, I became quite fond of RC and moon pies, even though Coke owned the town.
I enjoy taking visitors to the "World of Coke" in Atlanta and watching their faces at the end when they try some of the more interesting international flavors.

Just did that yesterday! First time since they moved the place. The tasting is still the best part.
The rest of it leads me to believe that Amtrak would be fabulous, on time and wonderful if Anderson would just drink a Coke a day.

Yes, if Amtrak discarded the Pepsi Products and provided Coca-Cola products, maybe more people would ride?

You'd think he would have gotten in the habit at Delta.

It can open your sinuses sometimes.

To change the subject from beverages to slogans, I want to mention my all-time favorite slogan. It's brief, no nonsense, right to the point:
Drink Barqs
It's Good
_____________
"A stranger's just a friend you ain't met yet." --- Dave Gardner
Barqs is good.
Paul of Covington Drink Barqs It's Good
A great New Orleans and Biloxi tradition. I think the Robinson family eventually sold it, and I don't think it has any Louisiana connections anymore. I can't remember.

I think it's a national brand, now, but as long as the formula stays right and they keep the caffeine in it, I'll be drinking it because it's GOOD.
