Colorado Officials look at Front Range Passenger Train service

So far nothing on a Chicago to Denver Auto-Train.

However, they are talking about keeping the Southwest Chief going and hopefully as well a connection to that train?    Talking about service to Pueblo and Colorado Springs so far.

I followed some of the links to the 2010 study and noted that the I-25 corridor would eventually extend to Trinadad. 

I noted some interesting routes on the I-70 corridor.  One alternative follows Clear Creek Canyon west of Golden, although I know the old CC/C&S ROW would be to curvy to follow.  They would tunnel under the Georgetown Loop.  As an alternative to Vail Pass, Between Copper Mtn and Vail, they might approx follow the old C&S line past Kokomo to the tailings ponds, and apparently follow the East Branch of the Eagle River to Pando on the Tennessee Pass Line.
