That video is really strange. I am surprised at the size of the turnout for the event. I wouldn't have thought that so many would be interested enough or even remember the trains.
Just a few blocks south of where the video was taken, there is a public park called Hubbard Park, where there is a (to me) really interesting double-bore automobile tunnel and a single-bore pedestrian tunnel under the tracks. 43.083273N x -87.897229W.
A mile north from there are my old stomping grounds (Estabrook Park) where I hung around the tracks as a kid. And in Estabrook Park there was an industrial spur line that left the main line and went through the park and then crossed the Milwaukee River in order to service some industrial customers (river crossing location: 43.098090N x -87.906860W. The very high bridge was removed years ago, and I have only one photo from the one time I crossed the bridge while I worked that run.
Just north of Capitol Dr. (where the above-posted video was shot) is the tower for a Milwaukee tv station. When built (1962) it was the tallest free-standing (no guy-wires) tower in the world at 1081'; it is now still the tallest in the US. At one time the tower's legs were lit with 2000 25-watt light bulbs, and could be seen from many miles away. If you look for it on Google Maps (43.090572N x -87.897229W), as you move around it, the shifting tower will give you some interesting perspectives.

Only three clues staged and only die hard rail fans will notice. Even had a doppler effect.
1. No loco
2. Cars are all lighted on top like sightseer lounges .
3. Red marker light on top of rear cars. Headlight on top maybe not a clue ??
Valid critisisms, but I look at it this way, it's done for the general public, not railfans or rail historians, so taken in that light it's pretty remarkable.
The crowd certainly got a kick out of it, and I'm sure that's all the artist was concerned with.
Just enjoy the spectacle and "go with the flow."
PS: I found another video of "The Ghost Train" debut, and it looks like the folks had one helluva party for it and a good time was had by all. And isn't that what really matters?

Your right I have not been in that section of town since my last visit to Walthers. What do you think of the new C&NW line bridges over I-94? Look spiffy to me, I wonder what the cost share formula on those was between DOT and UP RR.
