With all of the discussion on Amtrak taking away hot meals & dining
cars I wonder if anyone has noticed the Amtrak store seems to be
disappearing? Try to buy a t-shirt with a train name on it is impossible
and so many of the other things in the store have lower prices and the
warning "while supplies last" attached to them. I was in Union station
Chicago thursday 4/19 and in the lower level there was a gentleman in
a store front selling Amtrak stuff. T-shirts were just 12 bucks. Problem was
for all the shirts he had there was one small, a few large, and every other
one extra large or greater. It sure looked like a going out of business sale!
If it was (& I don't know) is this another way to save money? Ugh!!
Maybe the store is staying and the trains are going.
don't know and have not checked lately. I have a couple of great Amtrak shirts that I bought from them a few years ago. Always wear them on long dist Amtrak and people have thought I was with the crew. The crew always gives me a thumbs up and said "we love your shirt". So do I

EXCEPT there are no shirts with train names on them like
"Texas Eagle", only lapel pins! Are the trains going the way
of the shirts? Hope not!!
