Talgos to PNW?
Posted by blue streak 1 on Thursday, February 01, 2018 7:22 PM

Its official Amtrak has a docket before FRA to operate the stored Talgos at Beech in the PNW without door interlocks.  Note one set is on way to Puebelo for some type of testing.

The Amtrak petition underlying the FRA notice was actually filed with FRA on January 2, 2018 - over a month ago.  So, Amtrak must have made made the decision to use the Wisconsin trainsets within a week or two after the Cascades accident.  The petition is available on the "Regulations.gov" website (enter "FRA 2018-0005" in the search bar)

The Talgoes (sp?) were set out at Avondale CO (AAR/TTC connection east of Pueblo) by BNSF by Wednesday and pulled up into the Test Center shortly after that.

Assume Michigan DOT signed-off on this.

Au contraire, I suggest it might be more like a tornado... keeping with the Spanish and not Nahuatl roots.

And piano, like mother, is only half a word.
