Was waiting for a comment. Amtrak changed their web site last Sunday Oct 7th . It has been a disaster ever since. Sometimes ( actually most ) they go to what is called Amtrak lite. Cannot even find link to timetables. Know that this on another topic thread.
My experience with the new website is the same: It's a disaster.
It's much more difficult & frustrating to use.
But in a way it's indicative of what lies ahead for the passenger: These days, traveling by Amtrak ain't what it used to be.

My wife had similar complaints with American Airlines' website after changes were made following the US Airways merger. After a few times, she got used to the changes and get through it quite nicely.
NKP guy My experience with the new website is the same: It's a disaster. It's much more difficult & frustrating to use. But in a way it's indicative of what lies ahead for the passenger: These days, traveling by Amtrak ain't what it used to be. I used it to plan a trip Erie to Flagstaff, didn't find to be too difficult. Some folks don't like to embrace change.
When a trial booking WASH - BOS takes me thru CHI there is a problem. And another thru ALB as primary ? ? ?
An example of the difficulty with working with the new version: when checking the performace of a particular train over several days, it used to be necesssary to change only the date; now it is necessary to go back to the beginning of the request and enter all of the information.
I have not yet searched for much in the new version, but it has taken my much time to find what I want.
