Near-capacity conditions in peak travel months? In the coaches?
RME Near-capacity conditions in peak travel months? In the coaches?
I have no idea what they meant by that. I do know in the Summer they sometimes add and take off a Coach between Chicago and Twin Cities or at least they used to when it was Midway Station vs St. Paul Union Depot. They do the same with the Texas Eagle between St. Louis and Chicago.
You know they also published the first month stat of ridership on the Oklahoma City to Newton, KS thruway bus. 368 people rode that damn thing from midnight until 2 in the morning (31 days, what is that 10-13 a day average?)............that was the number that surprised Amtrak into thinking they should run a test train. They said the number has climbed steadily since that but did not disclose what the current monthly ridership is on the Thruway bus.
