JR DMUs

The latest Japan Railway Journal features the now 40 year old DMUs that were popular for use on branch lines. Many are now being converted to luxury tourist trains. Interesting show.

Great show. Wish we were as train mad and friendly as Japan!

At least one society has the right idea about railroads and passenger service.

Many do, and more do with the passage of time.  But not in North America.

Never seen anyone else do it like the Japanese! A brides curtin train? Cars rebuilt with bigger windows on the ocean side, as well as all seats facing that way, 40 year old DMUs with hot tubs, and the list goes on!
