ETA MSP 1935 hours at 11 hours 52 minutes late.
Can anyone shed light on the delays?

What a joke! How can anyone defend the EB service with a straight face? JJ Hill would be furious.

According to a report on Train Orders, a BNSF freight ahead had a grade crossing accident. Then further delayed digging out switches plugged with snow, and then waiting for a recrew because of the 12 hour limit. I'm sure JJ Hill also had those sort of days from time to time. Amtrak was the victim of forces beyond its control. Quite possibly the same snow that plugged the switches also made the roads difficult or impassible for taxiing the relief crew.
Winter blizzards do not make railroading easy.
