VIA Rail Prestige Class on the Canadian

Wow it is almost $10,000 one way between Toronto and Vancouver.   And folks think Amtrak charges too much with it's bargain basement sleeper prices.   Wonder what the occupancy is in that sleeper class?    Though if they can find people to pay that money, it's a good idea to offset the train subsidy if the compartment even runs 50% full.

Prestige Class runs year 'round on the Canadian and consistently sells-out during the peak summer months.......so they're not having any problems filling cars. Even during the winter....the couple of times I rode (in regular Sleeper!!)...the Prestige cars were half full.

Regular Sleeper still provides a excellent first class product at a fraction of the cost of Prestige Class!
