A couple of thoughts on Michgan Central trains in 1940 after looking at the map in the April issue.
1. Most Michigan Central/New York Central trains going west of Buffalo used the direct line via Black Rock and didn't go via Niagara Falls. There were a few trains (the Canadian/Niagara springs to mind) that did use the Niagara Falls route.
2. Before 1957, the only MC train that went to LaSalle Street was the Wolverine. The North Shore Limited arrived and departed from IC's Central Station, as did other MC trains.
I really like the Map of the Month feature. Finding minor flaws only shows how much research goes into the maps.
That was a great map, bringing back old times that many of us remember.
