What motive power was used for these trains prior to D&H's purchase of the PA's?
Alco RS2s/RS3s. In the 1970s D&H traded a pair of RS3s to B&M for a pair of RS3s with boilers as backup for the PAs on the Adirondack. D&H Also leased pairs of EL E8s as necessary in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
