HHP-8 & AEM-7 retirements
Posted by blue streak 1 on Monday, April 13, 2015 10:50 PM

As of this date all HHP-8s have been long retired.  Unconfirmed reports say only  2  AEM-7DCs remain in service.  That is 931 & 945.  They probably will be retired at the same time due to the fact they are not compatible with AEM-7ACs.   Various reports have ~  2 - 4 AEM-7ACs retired.  The AEM-7s were going fast. However ACS-64 deliveries have slowed.  Acceptance is also being very careful on Amtrak's part.

Pure speculation that maybe some problems that became clear this winter are being fixed at the factory before delivery ?
