Ouch! The bus is like 60-80.00. We did have a train in the 1970s from Buffalo Central Union Station at these prices somebody must be willing to pay $$$$$$ for this puddle hop across Lake Ontario
Why not take the Maple Leaf? Runs everyday from NYP to Toronto, gets into Toronto around 7:30pm. Don't recall the fare but we take her from Syracuse several times a year...even has a business class. Be prepared to spend about 2 hours on the Canadian side customs.
A bit misleading of a title....
Air Canada does not fly into Buffalo.

The flights that you see on Air Canada's web site are using their code share partner United, connecting through one of United's hubs. Doing a search on those city pairs most often had me connecting though O'Hare, although I did see Newark used once in a while. There is obvioulsy no demand for air service between the two cities.
An "expensive model collector"
The maple leaf is s nice trip, crossing over the Niagara gourge.
Amtrak fare is $53 coach, $68 Business class. 4:41 hr. Reasonable. IMHO. Travelocity lists no non-stop flights. Lowest one stop fare is $398 for a 4h 18m flight via JFK with a 45 min connection. Lv 6:28 PM, Ar 10:48 PM. Change planes required. Might want to consider renting a car
