Hello all ;
Here's a nice cab ride video I found from Switzerland, but not the 'typical' hilly stuff (it's from the Zurich - Lausanne line, there aren't all that many hills in this part of Switzerland). This one was taken from a high speed IC2000 train (there are sections of track at 200 km/h, or 125 Mph in 'imperial' parlance). _It's no NEC, but lotsa trains can bee seen (even some diesel switchers, a rarity there, siince circa 99% of all railroads are electrified), especially in the commuter districts. Hope you like it
The Diesel Shunters are not quite as rare as you think. There are 40 of the AM841 Class light Roadswitchers (the type seen to the left just after Zürich-Schlieren station), and 77 Class AM843 light Roadswitchers as seen in Blue and Red Cargo scheme. The AM841 are used for track maintenance trains, while the AM843 are used for Maintenance trains and Freight locals(trip freights), and Freight Yard switching. In addition there are many of the smaller "Tractors" small 4-wheel diesel powered switchers.

Yep, the Am841s are somehow familiar to me, since these diesels are based on a spanish prototype (Renfe series 311.1)
Rode the train into Lausanne last August. It was fast, clean, the service was excellent and the dining car food & wine were wonderful. The Swiss know how to do it.
