To my knowledge, Amtrak's Southwest Wind continues to run through Kansas, Colorado and New Mexico along the old AT&SF mainline.  A meeting was recently held in Pueblo, CO, among the various states and interested parties about the future of the line.  As I understand it, Amtrak wishes to reroute the Southwest Wind owing to poor track conditions, especially in Kansas, that delay the train,although the entire line between Lamy (if not Dailes, NM) and Kansas City is in need of substantial maintenance.  Thus far, nobody is willing to pay for it.

What was the result of the Pueblo meeting, and what is the current status of the line?  What does the future hold?

The train is actually called the Southwest Chief.  Apparently some participants wanted to reroute it thru Pueblo.  Here are a couple of links reporting on the meeting:
