Amtrak's New Chairman Anthony Cosia
Posted by John WR on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 9:48 AM

Anthony Cosia, formerly chairman of the Board of Directors of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, has been elected to be chairman of Amtrak's Board of Directors.  His election is strongly supported by New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg.  Senator Lautenberg is known for his general support of Amtrak.

The news is reported in Railway Age and other places:  http://www.railwayage.com/index.php/passenger/intercity/coscia-named-amtrak-board-chairman.html

Also having worked for the Port Authority, he has also worked with Joe Boardman as well as others involved with Amtrak and the various states and their people...

He says he has a stong commitment to easing the choke point at the North River Tunnels.  I hope he has the same concern about Amtrak outside the Northeast Corridor.
