New Atlanta AMTRAK station ?

Our local Atlanta tv station had a piece about a new station.

this location is in a very upscale new development that was built on an old electric arc steel plant called Atlantic steel.  would be great location and plenty of parking. will have to follow on.  chicago chatanooga atlanta Florida.service would be some what of a problem unless a baloon track is built at the station much like the richmond va broad street station had

additional article about station.  Note Greyhound may be located there as well. that would make for a definite intermodal terminal. Now if only the Atlanta street car would be routed there as well.

You make a good point about the lack of attention to local transit connections at the planned Atlanta station, Streak.

I think my own New Jersey Transit could do a lot better here too.  There are too many train stations too far from a bus line to be a reasonable walk while the bus lines still run fairly close.  Some rail stations have good bus connections; others do not.

After all, transit is all about making connections.

The 17th St bridge was built wide enough and strong enough to support a streetcar line.  Here's hoping...

This is a good Idea, I think!   Just add trains....

There is an existing, frequent, free shuttle bus from MARTA Arts Center station to Atlantic Station running now.  It is pretty well patronized.  They have gone from 15 passenger "buses" to full sized transit buses and streamlined the route.  A "two seat" ride for MARTA users, but pretty easy to navigate.
