Amtrak fence complaints
Posted by blue streak 1 on Sunday, March 11, 2012 2:59 PM

Some pols are complaining about new Amtrak security  fence. although eventual installation would not be prevented it might not have delayed if only the pols had enforced tresspassing laws.  Certainly this can be a message to other political jurisdictions that they must take more steps to prevent tresspassing and deaths on RR ROWs or get this 12' fence installed.

I guess Amtrak can't win.  Back when Graham Claytor was running it some people complained of a cyclone fence that had been cut open and was a hazard.  Claytor fired back he's had the fence repaired several times and trespassers kept cutting it open so they could short-cut across the tracks.  He just gave up having it fixed.
