Fire at Beech Grove
Posted by David S on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 5:26 PM

I'm surprised there hasn't been any mention on here or the Newswire of the fire this week at Beech Grove Shops in Indianapolis. (Unless Fox News made it up to make Amtrak look bad, but I doubt it.)

That Fox link is down, but here's another:

Sounds like no one was hurt.

    Quote from the article:

"He says Amtrak crews typically handle most fires at the facility but that this one spread beyond their control."

     How routine are these fires?

The facility runs three shifts and does machining, grinding, welding, and other burning activities.  A fire now and then seems reasonable.
