Two years ago I rode from Williams, AZ to the Grand Canyon. This was my first experience riding on train. The experience was AWESOME!!!! The best part was a steam engine took us back to Williams. I was able to get amazing up close pictures. Hearing the whistle was awesome. The cars are restored 1950 pullmans. I plan to ride again very soon.
I thought the RR was planning on retiring it's Steam power? If not than good for them..

csmarcel, welcome to the Trains forums ! I trust that you will be able to add scheduled passenger train travel to your experience, and see how it is to spend a full day or so on board. You have ridden a railroad that I have not yet been able to ride, but hope to in the near future.

I also heard that steam was to be taken out or at best used on a very limited basis. The "new" ownership is in my opinion doing there best to destroy the charm of the rr. I have taken it 5 times and and I can assure you the new ownership cares little about steam and the period equipment, there only concern seems to be making it as cheap as possible for themselves and they are now doing this in the name of being "green". I no longer ride or recommend it!
