Auto-Train Logistics

I was just wondering how often Amtrak's Auto Train typically stops in beween Lorton, VA and Sanford, FL for crew changes and fuel?   Would such stops be considered "unscheduled" since there are no passengers allowed to get on or off the train in between?

Al, I believe that Florence is the only crew-change point. There may be another point, since I calculate that it is 365 miles to Florence from Lorton, and then another 490 miles to Sanford. Grampaw Pettibone may be able to tell you for sure.

The Santa Fe used to show "operating stops" for the Super Chief, but Amtrak sees no reason to show such.

Florence is the Crew Change & Engine service stop for the Auto-Train....the only stop on the route.
