Fox River Trolley Museum launches funding campaign to repair vandalized trolley cars
Posted by DMKeenan on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 2:33 PM

The Fox River Trolley Museum (located in South Elgin, Illinos) has set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds to cover the cost of repairs to seven historic trolley cars that were vandalized early this month.  The damage, estimated to cost $100,000 to $150,000 to repair, was discovered by museum volunteers on the morning of Satuday, July 7.  South Elgin police have charged two youths, aged 11 and 13, with burglary and criminal damage to property in connection to this incident.

As a Fox River Trolley Musuem member, and as a railfan in general, I would invite those of you who are so inclined to consider donating to the Museum's campaign...

I would also like to express our gratitude for the prompt and professional response from the South Elgin police department as well as the support and encouragement that we have received from the South Elgin community.

Thanks
Damin.
