I posted this to "String Lining" as well, ETS is also taking delivery of some other LRT cars.
They have purchased several "slightly-used" Siemens-Duwag U2's from Calgary Transit, I believe they will only be used for parts. They are being shipped by rail from Calgary to Edmonton, a rather short haul.

Calgary plans to retire their remaining U2 fleet in the next few years, which will make Edmonton's LRT the last North American system to operate them. A fitting end, in the place where modern North American light rail began.
I hope Edmonton Transit sets one aside for preservation when their retirement finally arrives.

There will be idler cars, and they are shown in at least one of the pictures.
This first delivery may well take longer as they confirm it does indeed safely pass each known tight spot noted by the clearance gurus. If it is trouble free, following cars can be moved with less delay. (Until, that is, some whiz-bang manager decides to ignore the plan and redirects a train containing one of these cars onto a track or route that was not approved!)

I have never seen a shipment that overhung a flat car end like that. Seems that Bombardier should have had an idler car under the end of the LRV. To protect it at least.

Only takes a month to cross the country by rail...
I am curious about where it will be unloaded, as the Valley Line will not be connected to the current LRT system, CN or CP.
In the past new cars were delivered by CN to a spur between the Coliseum and Stadium LRT stations northeast of downtown, and unloaded there. Perhaps the Valley Line cars will make the final part of their journey by truck.
That looks like one long car...
