TEXRail progress
Posted by CMStPnP on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 9:42 PM

Found this video on the internet of a March 2018 chase of the Grapevine Vintage Railroad.    Which runs a vintage steam train from just North of DFW Airport (Grapevine, TX) to the Fort Worth Stockyards for tourists (which I believe runs on Fort Worth and Western tracks....ex-Cotton Belt).    When the steam engine is not available they use diesel as in this case.     You can see a lot of the TEXRail work progress along this line which is the new Fort Worth to DFW Airport Stadler rail car service that will open in a year or two to DFW Airport (Terminal A?).    The rail next to the Vintage Steam Train which has concrete ties is TEXRail.     This will be the third rail option out of DFW Airport.    First was Trinity Railway Express reached by a Shuttle Bus, then came DART Light Rail (Terminal B) which leads to Irving and downtown Dallas,   At some point in the future there will be a fourth using the Cotton Belt East to Plano but no real progress on that front yet.     Anyway here is the video....

Dallas and Fort Worth intend to jointly build a HSR Connector for the proposed Houston to Dallas Service from the station in Dallas to Fort Worth as well, the HSR connector is still being talked about.....not a lot of firm details yet on that.
