Great to know Dave thanks.
It is easy to railfan the Boston transit system. Signs and maps are at every station.
2nd only to PCCs on Ashmont - Matapan is the Green Line system's "D" Riverside line, the former Boston and Albany Highland Branch. On the way back get off at Riverside, and transfer up a flight of stairs to the Beacon Street "C" line, wih lots more stops before reaching the subway, but you will have ridden on the oldest electric railway track still in service anywhere in North America, from Coolidge Corner at Harvard Street to the subway portal at St. Mary's street the electrification dates from 1889. And the neighborhoods are bautiful.
Awesome thanks
First look at the MBTA map (https://www.mbta.com/maps) and follow the RED Line. You will take it to Ashmont. That is where you transfer to the PCC line to Mattapan. If you look where the Red Line crosses the silverline, you will see South Station. So when you get to South Station, ask where the Red Line Station is and take it to Ashmont. Very easy.
hi I need some information on how difficult it is to get from Boston's South station to the Boston pcc car line?
Thanks in advance
