The city of Glendale, Arizona has decided against an extension of the Metro light rail system into their community.

It is interesting to note that the original Phoenix street railway connected what was then a very rural Glendale to the city. Up until a few years ago, you could still see a patch in the pavement in the downtown area where once there were tracks.
