I was pleased to get a chance to ride in one of the Bombardier coaches on Thanksgiving day (in both directions actually, although they were the refurbished Metrolink cars). The locomotive in both cases, was an F40ph, not an MP36. It was a much, much smoother and quieter trip. Much quieter than the BART train I transfered from – and quieter than SF's Muni Metro Breda trains, too.
On previous Thanksgiving and Christmas Day trips, they used the rough, noisy, older, non-Baby Bullet cars. Now they just need to add WiFi on all the Bay Area trains and buses.
Strength in diversity!
Adding cars to some trains making them 6 cars. This is getting close to present platform lengths of the agency.
