New California state rail map available
Posted by MikeF90 on Saturday, November 5, 2016 7:14 PM

The state Division of Rail and Mass Transit (DRMT) has just published track schematics for all locations that have 'conventional' rail passenger service. BNSF, UP, SCRRA, Caltrain, ACE, and even SMART resources are included.

Download the PDF at: http://www.dot.ca.gov/drmt/docs/ca_rail_schematics.pdf

The DRMT main page is: http://www.dot.ca.gov/drmt/ ; I would bookmark this URL in case the PDF changes location, is updated or split, etc.

There are project related errors on the map. For instance, the BNSF San Bernardino sub third main 'gap' in Santa Fe Springs will only be spanned when the just-barely-started Rosecrans / Marquardt road flyover project is complete around 2020-ish.

BTW do not visit the old DivRail page www.dot.ca.gov/rail as it is obsolete. Why they haven't removed it is, well, typical gov't IT. Unfortunately it was the first entry in my Search results.

Great find, Mike!  Great find indeed.

Hey, did you see something in that material for the “Sunset Route Two-Tracking Updates” thread?  I was struck with disbelief and just about freaked out when I saw it!  You might too.  Clue … Spada in Pomona …

The material is already out of date, but to have such material is a real boon.

I don't take credit for the find, some poster on the Yahoo Calrailfans group deserves it ....

Please provide a link, I could not find what you're referring to. Question

MikeF90 (11-11):

Your quite observant, and can have the satisfaction of sharing the info with interested, eager parties.

That link you requested is that first link in your first post.  In the PDF, scroll down to the Riverside Line chart, and fined Spadra.  You’ll marvel at what you see!

Hey, Mike, I was out to Pomona today, and checked Spadra (by Temple Ave.), Humane Way, and Hamilton Blvd.  Main B is STILL without trains.  I was at each site just a little while, but trains seemed to like me today (Saturday)!  And I got photos of trains actually on Main A too!  In a day or two watch your email and the “Sunset Route Two-Tracking Updates” thread.

Take care,

K.P.
