During the event, the SEPTA Operating and Mechanical teams selected to compete in next year's International American Public Transit Association (APTA) Rail Rodeo Competition in Baltimore, Maryland will be announced.

Kristin indicated that the passes will be assigned via lottery as the number of requests is expected to be heavy.  (She didn't say whether people could register multiple times with different names and e-mail addresses... Devil)

Where did SEPTA maintain there deisal fleet when they had it?

I believe the Reading had its own MU-car shop, probably located near Wayne Junction.  I beleive this passed to SEPTA and the RDCs were maintained there.

But SEPTA had some Deisal Units as well...not just RDC

The only locomotives in road service operated by SEPTA were the FP7's (long since retired) and eight AEM7 electrics.  There are a few diesels assigned to yard and maintenance-of-way service.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

What the mu shop could do for the diesels it did, including the regular insipections, filter replacement, brake shoes, etc.   Heavy stuff went to Conrail, which was still around at the time.
