I was visiting San Francisco this past week and, as usual, used the MUNI subway (and also the BART one below it). Waiting in the (to me) spacious stations, I got curious-just how wide are the platforms at those stations? Market Street is a wide (100+ feet) street so there is a lot of room to work with for a two-track system, though station access uses a lot of it.
