SPV's Great Lakes West Atlas shows the line as having been abandoned north of Ringwood, with the UP being the operator from McHenry to Ringwood.

So, it is highly improbable that there will ever again be service to Lake Geneva.

The service to Lake Geneva disappeared prior to the establishment of the RTA.  Service to Richmond (just short of the state line) was cut back to McHenry in part because of the deteriorating condition of the branch.  I'm not sure that the branch even extends to Lake Geneva anymore.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

Whats the odds after Scott Walkers term as Gov. that Metra will ever get up there?  In the Paralel Universe of Metro North and the New Haven some of the weekend vacation trains did quite well
