In New York  they are called  Bendy Buses.

NYC has decided to confuse and obfuscate things by making some routes "Select Routes" where you CANNOT pay on the bus, but must pay on the sidewalk and get a receipt. You must keep the receipt for the fare inspectors (if any) or face a $500. fine.

All the other beese, you still pay as you enter.

Articulated buses aren't that uncommon in the United States, CTA has been using them since the mid 1970's.  CTA has also modified the service on Route 14 (now J14) to resemble BRT but without the dedicated bus lanes.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul
