hence the flashlights afterward!

Your fellow Marines learned from one man's unfortunate experience.  That is important.

I agree that a lot of people are in today.  This morning I swept the snow off steps and walkways.  Then I went in.

Schadenfreude?  Ja, naturlich!   Sure, anyone could have done it, hence the flashlights afterward!

Awful lot of activity on the Forum today.  Must be a lot of people trapped inside by the dirty weather around the country.

It happened when I was in the Marines.

In the dark it wasn't a stupid for foolish mistake.  Anyone could have done it.  Schadenfreude.

It happened when I was in the Marines.  We were out on a Command Post Exercise, and one of the troops whizzed on an electric junction box.  He didn't know it was there, it was pitch dark, the box was on the ground near some bushes, and then  "ZAP!  POW!  OWWWWWWWW!!!!!!"

I don't know what hurt him worse, getting zapped, or lying on the ground with his friends in a circle around him laughing their butts off!  Needless to say, all answered the "call of nature" after that with flashlights.

A friend of mine in the Navy told me how he tricked his brother into pissing on an electric fence. He was urinating on it, but only when the indicator light on the fences control box was out, that way he knew there was no current. He said "if I can do it, so can you." So his brother did! ZAP!

love the "Mythbusters", and I heard they busted it, but I sure wouldn't try it myself!

I did some net surfing.  There is a lot of stuff on the net about this.  Mythbusters believes the urine stream will break up into individual drops before it hits the third rail so there will be no direct path for the electricity.  On the other hand there are reports of people doing it and being electrocuted.  However, they tend to fall on the third rail or get hit by a train in addition so the cause of death is unclear.

Like you, I don't plan to do it, Firelock.

Imagine the fireworks if he whizzed on the third rail.

"OOOOOOOOO!"  "AHHHHHHH!"   "I'm sure glad it's dark down here!  Look how the tube's lit up!"

Didn't Mythbusters test that in the not too distant past and found it 'BUSTED'.

Never too old to have a happy childhood!

Do you have any idea how many police officers it would take to put one in every car?

If you're a poor working guy and you fall asleep you get a ticket.  But if you do something really dangerous you are ignored.  Go figure.

I guess there are more words to the song Don't Sleep In Subways that we haven't heard yet.

Certainly this guy didn't hear them.

RIDEWITHMEHENRY is the name for our almost monthly day of riding trains and transit in either the NYCity or Philadelphia areas including all commuter lines, Amtrak, subways, light rail and trolleys, bus and ferries when warranted. No fees, just let us know you want to join the ride and pay your fares. Ask to be on our email list or find us on FB as RIDEWITHMEHENRY (all caps) to get descriptions of each outing.

A 31-year old Bronx man fell to his death this afternoon while defecating between subway cars on a moving number 6 train, cops said.

Police officers are supposed to patrol these cars.  If you go from one car to another while the train is moving you will get a ticket.  Where were the Transit Police while this was going on?

But they now believe the bizarre incidents were totally unrelated.

It's always good to bunch your "unusual occurances" together...

DON'T defaecate on or near subway tracks

A man who took a s*** fell onto the track and was killed by a NYC subway train.

A 31-year old Bronx man fell to his death this afternoon while defecating between subway cars on a moving number 6 train, cops said.

The man fell onto the tracks and was run over by the northbound train as it was leaving 125th Street station shortly after 4 pm, police said.

It gets weirder.

Around the same time on the opposite platform, a bloody and extremely battered man crawled up from the tracks — just as the northbound 5 train was pulling in — with a broken pelvis, severe buttocks injuries and cuts.

That man — who sources said was Manuce Dulcio, 50 — might have been hit by the train, cops said.

It’s unclear why he was on the tracks.

Dulcio was “very intoxicated,” a police source said.

Officials had initially said that the men had been involved in a fight. But they now believe the bizarre incidents were totally unrelated.

Riders were stuck on the 5 train for 45 minutes after the incident.
