The above link was from a Reuters story, as well on MSM.com this morning. It seems to have more detail and indicates the NJ Transit management decision, to place a large part of its fleet of engines and cars at the shop location in the Marsh area in Northern NJ (Sandy Point) .  Apparently, this decision was made in the light of many warnings from the Weather Services(?).  Similarly, the Storm Surge was exacerbated by coming on a period of high tide.  Another article I saw this morning ( possibly: a Reuters origin, as well?)  Mentioned that NJT was reporting a potential $900 Million dollar loss to their fleet what has lost services of somewhere around half their locomotive fleet, and their passenger  cars to almost a similar number. The water lever was reported to have risen over the level of the Trucks of the Locomotives and the car fleet as well. Since much of the water was salty, damages will be much harsher due to the salty exposure.
