I took a quick ride on it a few months ago.  It's pretty slick.  They did build rather fancy stations.  They look great, but I wonder if they cost more than they could have.

The interesting thing is that Norfolk has minuscule pedestrian traffic - less than Atlanta, yet The Tide has been more successful than forecast.  

Some of what I've read is that VA Beach is now interested in expanding the line along the originally planned route.  They were dead-set against it at the start.

Tide averaged this number over what was forecast of 2900 / day. That figure was even disputed by critics and now they are trying again to defeat expansion into Virginia Beach
