Montpeiler and other citys are expermenting with a Demand Response serive that works off a Iphone app that services a cone shaped zone between downtown and the shopping hospital area on the outside of of town. Instresting the city of Monptpeiler and Barre have a public owned rail corridor that is operated by Vermont Railway. With city transit systems no longer taking masses of people to downtown hubs due to Stay at home workers there still is a need to go shopping and see the doctor and go to the rec center. We need something less linear but still need regional city to city service and suburb to suburb,
I like the concept of a belt or loop rail line around the city Moscow has one and Dallas snd Atlanta are developing one using old freight lines. Chicago Metra did a study on the "Star Line" that went nowhere and Washington DC Purple Line/Silver line has turned into a Billion Doller boondoggle
