Since these kinds of incidents never stop, it will never be time to talk about them until the last human offs all those in his area and then offs himself.  Then there will be nobody left to send thoughts and prayers.

You're a brave dude.  On here,  those opposed to any form of gun regulation  (as in "well-regulated militia") outnumber those who are fed up with thoughts and prayers, the inverse proportion of those nationally.

When a NRA employee goes bezerk in the office and guns down a dozen or so, I will send them my thoughts and prayers.

Well, I for one think those who think that their posessing a firearm makes them part of a "WELL REGULATED MILITIA" need to be better REGULATED. Too many people are dying and I think it is time to bring some sanity to who can have firearms.

In one sense I agree.  Instead of talking about the issue, everyone should write to their Congress person and Senator, and let them know your thoughts on gun violence, which is a stain on this country.  It makes my friends in Australia, Canada, and the UK wonder just what kind of country we are!

I no stranger to guns.  I got my first rifle when I turned 12.  It was a bolt action 22 that held five rounds.  Subsequently, when I turned 15, my dad bought me a double barrel shotgun for hunting.  Moreover, six years in the Marine Corps gave me plenty of exposure to serious weapons.  But I see no need for rapid fire, high-capacity weapons for civilians.

I write to my representative and senator after every shooting.  I let them know my views, which don't play well with many Texans.   So, in a sense, I talk to the people who could do something about better regulation of guns in the U.S.
