Another reasonably compelling argument for constant-tension catenary!

It isn't clear from the article whether the catenary actually snapped in tension or was 'helped along' by vibration from or contact with the pantograph shoe.  I'll be interested to see if there are similar reports from cold-weather experience in the NEC (and whether some effects apply to the constant-tension parts of the installations there)

Constant tension catenary won't stay in place too well when the supports are knocked over.  A derailment on the parallel CN main knocked down some catenary supports.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul
