Sun Rail expansion south starts July 30th.

Sun Rail is staarting expanded service in 2 stages.  The first stage will be longer hours and mid day fill in starting July 23th.  This schedule will remain in effect north of Sandlake with the trains going to / from Poincianna starting July 30th.  Hope this will be much more effective for the Orlando area ?/

However there is still a couple periods during the day of 1:30 and 2:00 between trains.  Worse still is no service on weekends that provides needed service for persons to attend downtown Orlando weekend events.  We have several persons in the area that think that is a very lack of service.  Why will Sun Rail not consider operating weekend special event trains such as Seattle Sounder does ?

All a matter of money and available crews, and number of crews.

Is I-4 aas congested on weekends and it is during rush hourse weekdays?

Would ir make more sense to run a substitue bus on weekends?

Sun rail did start today.  FYI had a grandson and his mother that rode the first train north from Poincianna.  Said they enjoyed it very much .

Grandson's father and mother complain that no weekend or holiday service.  Also special event train not planned.

I-4 west of downtown Orlando is a traffic nightmare due to disney and other attractions. Right now I-4 is being expanded in many locations that causes intermittent delays any time.  We have taken 1-1/2 hours + to drive Orlando - Poincianna on wekends.

I-4 from Daytona to the US 27 exit at Clermont has been a construction zone ever since I started racing at Sebring International Raceway in 1994.

Never too old to have a happy childhood!
