Called Akron Metro to get a ride from the Cuyahoga Valley RR Station to Kent State OH. The dispacther told me that there is no service on weekends and the closest they could get me was 8 miles from the Kent State PARTA bus. He then told me to call Lyft or Uber to bridge the gap. Despite the city of Akron having 300,000 people and Kent State having 40,000 students there is no econmic incentive to connect the 2 and now even less since most students it seens has a debit account and Uber on there phones.

Akron residents tend to go to Akron U - not Kent State.

Kent Students if they rely on intercity public transport have to go to the Akron Bus Station in Akron there are buses to there to Cleveland Tower City Rail and Akron/Canton Airport. The round about way is to take the bus to the Cuyahoga Scenic Ry. were the train will take you to Valley View then a Cleve RTA bus connection. GREYHOUND dropped Kent State 15 years ago and the Erie stopped in 1970. Nursing Students shuttle back and forth and there is cheaper housing in Akron.

Guess Akron Metro doesn't want to clue anyone in about the Portage Area Regional Transportation Authority and it's Akron Express route to Kent.  Doesn't serve the the old Howard Street station area that Cuyahoga Senic serves, but it does get one between Akron and Kent.

Ohio people are a little more schectchy about picking up strangers...you could be at a exit for days before getting a ride.
