An excellent article, Mr. Klepper. There is a former New York/Vienna streetcar in the tram museum at Crich in the U.K.
Both Seashore and Branford (Shore Line Trolley) have examples, and running 629 at Branford was always a most enjoyable exerience for me. I learned streetcar drving in The Bronx on cars with the braking system (age 15-1/2), so never had any problem with using 629's brakes or other controls.
