Cable Railway, Telefarique, for Jerusalem

The five most important pages from a brochure:

Nearly all the material on the other pages is devoted to the advantages of the cable system:  ease and economy of constrution, minimum impact on existing structures, no polution.  The manufacturor is not mentioned, nor similar systems elsewhere.  Total number of cars = 73; on-line at one time 41.  Each car carries maximum of ten.  Speed is 21.6 kph, or about 14 mph.  Capacity is 3000/hour each way or 6000/hour total.

I plan on making a pdf of the pages scanned so far, and may find the time to scan and include the additional pages.

The project appears to be that of the Jerusalem Municipality

I have about 2000 negatives and old prints and color slides to scan and get distributed while I can.  I'm 86.  I have learned now the posting on this website is not the most efficient way, and will thus turn to making up pdfs on various subjects and distributing them to everyone indicating their interest.

In addition to being practical, it looks like a fun ride as well!

NOTHING is terrorist-proof
The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

I'm sure the Israelis have considered the terrorism angle.  But you know, they're tough people.  They may not be living in the bulls-eye, but they're definately in the eight-ring.
