Delair Bridge Connections
Posted by alloboard on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 5:53 PM

Is there currently a connection on the Delair bridge that is nothbound? If not why not; was there ever one in the past and was removed? If there is a north bound connection, It would allow trains from AC to go into Philadelphia northbound, instead of backtracking to 30Th St Station and backing up again. Perhaps ther is no connection because there is a connection before the Delair bridge in NJ.

I don't understrand your question.  Do you mean avoid Philadelp;hia going from New York to Atlantic City?   Such a connection did exist once.  someone else can answer if it still does.

Earlier, I meant avoiding Philadelphia, not even going through Delair bridge, but if you go through Delair bridge you go north instead of south.

The connection was once a wye, to go north or south, but I am not sure that thenorth curve has been retained.

The current NJT service uses the south connectdion.  As did PRSL.
