Yesterday, I was on my way west on I-70 in Indiana west of Richmond and saw what appeared to be three transit/subway cars on trucks heading east. Anybody know where they were coming from or where they were going?

WMATA subway cars from the Kiawasaki plant in Lincoln, Nebraska?
Not sure. They were completely wrapped in black plastic/tarps. Could make out the doors and windows only in addition to the shape of the cars.
