"The parked vehicle was facing the wrong way and was parked outside of the parking lines. The Streetcar struck the parked vehicle on the right side, police said."
Bound to happen just wait till Cincy starts their service on there narron hilly streets.
Heavy rail has plenty of problems with trespasser pedestrians and at grade crossings. With a streetcar system, the entire ROW is an uncontrolled grade crossing.
When rubber-wheel traffic started building up in Tokyo half a century ago the rails were lowered into subway tunnels. That eliminated a major source of delays - drivers pulling into the rail lane to turn left, blocking the streetcar from running ahead. It seems to me that bringing back street running is akin to reinventing the square wheel.

"Old times there are not forgotten..."
And the beat goes on. SUV was parked illegally outside of lanes and in wrong direction. SUV delivery van totaled. Streetcar will probably not be repaired before August. Doors almost torn off.

Also a report is now saying driver had too many hours working and probably fatigued. This fatigue just pops up in almost all transportation incidents.
