and good folks stood by and did nothing... Oh this is going to look cool on youtube.
From the article: "When the MetroLink stopped at the Forest Park station, a security officer boarded the train and saw the assault taking place. The suspects left the MetroLink and the security guard notified police of the incident."
That strikes me as a totally inadequate response, probably because the security guard lacked the authority to take action. I can't think of a better way to insure MetroLink patronage suffers declines.
The article doesn't say through what door the security officer boarded, but the video clearly shows that when the door nearest the assualt opened the attackers immediately went out, and noone used that door to board. Absent any other evidence I'm left to assume the security officer was not at that door, and although they may have seen the last couple of punches, might not have been near enough to have easily and quickly chosen between aiding the victim or pursuing the attackers.

It seems that the bad guys actulay relish in being filmed doing there dirty deeds!!In Cleveland and Buffalo Light Rail Systems there are Cameras on Board the trains as most of the Buses. Despite this there have been deterant to assults and the most recent event on "The Rapid" was full mellee fight at Tower City Station. It takes common citizens with I-phone cameras to cover these incedents. This is bad publicty for proponents of transit rail everywhere.
