Honolulu Light Rail Project Restarts
Posted by Kyle on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 3:18 AM

After months of delays from incomplete archeological surveys, the light rail project has finally the green light to start building.  Several drill rigs for drilling the pilings have been brought in, including one by the Aloha stadium, and one on Kam highway, which has closing two lanes (the left lanes in each direction).  There has also been several roads closed for pilings to be constructed. The rail is expected to open in 2016.

Ah, archeological surveys.

If no one knows it is there, will you really miss it if it gets damaged?

They are mostly worried about burial sites.  Granted when you hear the history of Hawaii, you hear they killed thousands of people, it sounds like the whole entire island is a burial site.
